Bobby was a happy little dog with a wagging tail and shiny black fur. He lived with a family of four in a cozy house with a big backyard. Bobby loved nothing more than playing fetch and chasing after squirrels in the yard.
One day, while the family was out for a walk, Bobby saw a cat dart across the street. Without thinking, he took off after it, chasing it down the block and around the corner.
The family shouted and called for Bobby, but he was so focused on chasing the cat that he didn't hear them. Eventually, the cat darted up a tree and Bobby stopped to pant and catch his breath.
As he looked around, Bobby realized that he was lost. He didn't recognize the neighborhood and his family was nowhere to be found. He started to panic and ran around in circles, barking and howling for help.
Just as Bobby was about to give up hope, he saw a friendly face approaching. It was Mrs. Jenkins from down the street, out for her daily walk. She had a kind smile and a gentle voice, and she immediately recognized Bobby.
"Well hello there, little fella," she said, bending down to pat him on the head. "What are you doing all the way out here?"
Bobby whimpered and tried to explain that he was lost, but Mrs. Jenkins could tell that he was a good dog. She decided to help him find his way home.
Together, they walked through the neighborhood, asking people if they had seen a little black dog with a wagging tail. Finally, they came across a group of children who had seen Bobby running around earlier that day. They told Mrs. Jenkins which direction he had gone, and she followed their directions until they arrived at Bobby's house.
The family was overjoyed to see Bobby and Mrs. Jenkins, and they thanked her profusely for bringing their beloved pet home safe and sound. From that day on, Bobby made sure to always stay close to his family and never wander off again.
